Current weather conditions at 10 am 8/28/11

Irene has now been downgraded to a tropical storm from previous hurricane status. Our area remains under a flash flood warning until 1:45 PM and a tropical storm warning until 2 PM. Though we’re currently in a dry slot, we anticipate there may be some additional rain as bands on the back of the storm spiral in later. Our tornado watch has been cancelled, though we were placed under warnings twice last night during the height of the storm.

The Delaware River at Riegelsville is forecasted to crest around 5 PM tomorrow just shy of a major flood level at 29.3 feet. Please check our Resources page for the AHPS river gauge site and other helpful tools. Stay tuned here, follow us on Twitter at @NoxEMAWxComm, or check our Facebook page.
